NIAC Action is excited to announce our latest endorsed candidate: Aida Ashouri! 

Aida, an Iranian American and first-time candidate, is no stranger to serving her community. She’s spent a lifetime volunteering to support those in need, especially for those without the resources to advocate for themselves. That’s why NIAC Action is proud to endorse Aida’s race for Los Feliz Neighborhood Council, District C in Los Angeles.

Before law school, Aida drafted legislation to reform asylum laws and increase protections for migrants in the U.S. After graduating from UC Berkeley School of Law, Aida served in the Office for Immigration Review through the U.S. Department of Justice, and played a pivotal role in creating the ordinance that prohibits establishing a religious registry. 

And when the pandemic hit, Aida sprung to action yet again by working with the Small Business Administration to keep local businesses afloat and increase recovery efforts from the economic downturn. Aida is the exact type of leader we need in office right now, and we know Aida will deliver results for the community, just as she’s done throughout her career.
